Xiaomi was able to release a bezel-less phone through its Mi Mix however, the audio quality was compromised because of the earpiece's absence. To address this issue, the company is currently working with AAC Technologies.

Through the AAC Actuator, a better screen sound can be achieved even at a low frequency, which also considered to work better with 3GPP standard or nearly the same as an HD voice. Xiaomi used the Cantilever piezoelectric ceramic technology as an earpiece replacement in Mi Mix which enabled the transmission of the electrical signal to piezoelectric ceramic and convert it to mechanical energy that caused the frame's vibration and then reach the user's ear through the screen.

Gizbot said that this technology is very innovative, yet the response of users according to their experience is not that positive. Rumors have been circulating that Xiaomi is finding some ways to enhance this functionality through an improved hardware. With the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, along with an AAC Actuator, an improved sound quality is expected for the new device to have. AAC Technologies is acclaimed for producing tiny speakers and vibrators for haptics.

The company also manufacture other components for smartphones. Xiaomi Mi Mix has a 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio and according to Wccftech, it will even increase to 93 percent with Mi Mix 2.It is evident that LG G6, as well as Samsung's Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, had a noticeable lower percentage on the screen-to-body ratio, this is because the remaining space on the top part of the screen is intended to other components such as the speaker grill, front camera, security features and more.

If Xiaomi will incorporate a bigger screen than what it previously had, then a higher level of designing and engineering is much needed, says GSM Arena. Included in Xiaomi Mi Mix 2's specifications are Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB LPDDR4X RAM, OLED panel that is nearly with no bezel. There is no official announcement yet from Xiaomi on when will be the release date of Mi Mix 2 but according to analyst Sun Changxu, the device will probably be launched in the 4th quarter of 2017
