Samsung just announced its highly anticipated Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ smartphones with much fanfare earlier this year. Sporting an eye-catching all-screen design and packed with an array of awe-inspiring features, it is, without an iota of doubt, the best Android smartphone up for grabs in the market today.
Much to the delight of budget-conscious buyers, the phone doesn't come bearing a steep price tag as previously surfaced reports indicated. Now, there's hearsay that the South Korean handset maker is already hard at works on its next Galaxy S model. This shred of information surrounding the Galaxy S9's Qualcomm processor comes from Korea.
A recently surfaced report from The Korea Herald (via BGR) claims Samsung has collaborated with Qualcomm to make a new mobile chip for the Galaxy S9. The chip is likely to be dubbed as Snapdragon 845 and will presumably be manufactured either by Samsung or TSMC when development is concluded.
Even before the Galaxy S8 hit the store shelves, there was a report indicating that the Galaxy S9 is already in development at Samsung doing rounds online. Lining with this, the popular handset manufacturer is building the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset on its first-gen 10nm process, but the new one warrants either a 15% power reduction or a 10% boost in performance.
TSMC, on the other hand, is developing A11 chipsets for Apple on its own 10nm process. The chips will go into the next generation iPhone, according to GSM Arena. Interestingly, the first rumor surrounding the Galaxy S9 does not center on the device's design or feature; however, the chip actually divulges a lot of details.
On the hardware front, Mashable shared a wish list about the things smartphone enthusiasts would love to see Samsung include on the next Galaxy S flagship smartphone i.e. the Galaxy S9.
First off, to take on the iPhone 7 Plus, and its successor, Samsung should include dual cameras for optical zoom.
Fingerprint sensor nested underneath the screen rather than next to the rear camera.
A customizable Bixby button.
A larger, and of course, safe battery.
The inclusion of a headphone jack.
If this comes to fruition, do you think Samsung will once again have the world's best phone in the form of the Galaxy S9? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
