Motorola's long-rumored successor to the Moto Z Play dubbed as the Moto Z2 Play is on the verge of hitting the store shelves if the upcoming Moto smartphone's leaked renders are anything to go by.
The Moto Z2 a.k.a. Z2 Force has already surfaced online in the form of leaked press renders. They will obviously bear a striking resemblance to last year's Moto Z models since the company has assured those who purchased MotoMods would be able to use them with the next version of the Moto Z.
The first render of MotoZ2 Play has been leaked online on TechnoBuffalo (via GSM Arena). The recently surfaced images give smartphone enthusiasts a brief glimpse of device's form factor, which seems to be quite identical to its precursor, i.e. the Moto Z Play.
Moto Z2 Play Specifications & Features
The second-generation Moto Z Play retains the protruding camera hump, along with a slew of other identical features such as a front-facing flash, LED flash, connector pins for Moto Mods such as the Incipio offGRID power pack, Insta-share projector, Hasselbland camera, and the JBL speaker. However, the shape of the device's physical home button is notably different compared to 2016's model, TheIndianExpress reported.
The newfangled home button seems to have a better cosmetic appearance as compared to the square obstruction on last year's Moto Z and Moto Z Play. Apparently, it will be able to support gestures that can dismiss on-screen navigation keys -- just like the Moto G5 Plus and Moto G5.
Both the volume and power buttons are placed on the edge of the device. Aside from that, the Moto Z2 Play has a front flash, and the Moto logo is placed in the center at the back.
Moto Z2 Play Release Date
There's another shred of information that alludes to the device's alleged launch date. The display has the date June 8 on it, and according to Gadgets 360, this could mean that the Moto Z2 Play might arrive on the said date.
It's worth noting, though, this is mere speculation and nothing is set in stone yet. Moreover, the Beijing-based tech firm has kept details about the Moto Z2 Play under wraps, thus, readers are advised to take these speculations with a huge grain of salt.
In other news, Moto is reportedly hard at works on a new ultra-affordable 'C' series, but the device has been subject to leaks as well. The first smartphones in the series to make an appearance online are Moto C and Moto C Plus. In addition, the Moto E4 and the 2017 variant of the Moto X have also been leaked online and are expected to arrive sooner rather than later.
