Microsoft's next console dubbed Xbox Scorpio is likely to take the gaming realm by storm when it hits the store shelves in near future provided it comes bearing this more affordable price tag.
It looks like Xbox Scorpio price details have found their way on the internet ahead of the console's scheduled holiday 2017 release date. Microsoft is expected to divulge the pricing details for its Xbox Scorpio at this year's E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo), which kicks off June 13 at 10 pm UK time; however, one retailer seems to have spilled the beans before appointed time.
Xbox Scorpio Price
XtraLife, a Spanish retailer is touting out the upcoming Xbox One Scorpio console with a €399 price tag, which converts roughly to £335 in the UK and $427 in the US. The retailer made this revelation about the Xbox Scorpio pricing via a tweet from DesiXBL.
At the moment, the internet is rife with various reports pointing to conflicting price points for the Xbox Scorpio. It's also worth noting that the Xbox Scorpio's price is considered as a huge potential deterrent for the upcoming console. Microsoft has already deemed it as a premium console confirming that it would be more expensive than the Xbox One S.
Head of Xbox Phil Spencer threw more light on the pricing details of the Xbox Scorpio while having a chat with Gamasutra (via GameSpot) in Microsoft's headquarters in Washington recently. Spencer told the website that the new console would cater to the demands of the high-end consumer and thus carry a higher price point.
Lining with this, Digital Foundry also indicated that a price point of $499 is highly likely due to the kind of technology involved in making the Scorpio capable of running games at native 4K. It's notable that the Xbox Scorpio has previously been compared to a luxury PC that costs thousands of dollars; although Xbox fans would be hoping it won't come bearing such a steep price tag.
