Looks like Nokia is on a roll! The iconic handset maker marked its much-awaited return to the mobile segment by launching three Android-powered smartphones alongside a radically overhauled Nokia 3310 a few weeks ago, but that's not all. Multiple sources suggest Nokia is currently gearing up to launch its flagship smartphone known as the Nokia 9.
As expected, this revelation stirred conversations among smartphone enthusiasts, while recently surfaced reports continued adding more fuel to the already burning rumors about the Nokia 9's release date, specs and other details. Let's take a gander at the speculations the rumor mill has been churning around the Nokia 9 smartphone.
Nokia 9 Specifications & Features
The Nokia 9 is expected to boast an array of jaw-dropping specs and features including a QuadHD OLED display, Carl Zeiss cameras, and an Iris Scanner. Under the hood, the new Nokia smartphone could pack a Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with Adreno 540 GPU, 6GB of RAM, and 64/128GB of internal storage.
The new Nokia phone is likely to be backed by a 3,800mAh battery with QuickCharge 4 support. It is likely to run the latest Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box, according to reports.
Last month, renowned tech leaker known as Nokia bar shared a bunch of design sketches of what looked like a high-end Nokia handset (via GSM Arena) -- one showing off a Zeiss-branded dual camera. It looks like those design sketches are finally getting considerable backing from the rumor mill.
This aligns well with the claimed specs for the Nokia 9, which comprises a 22MP dual cam on the rear and a (single) 12MP front shooter. Aside from that, the Nokia 9 is expected to beef up the Nokia 6 spec sheet with a 5.5-inch QHD screen (AMOLED) and a powerful Snapdragon 835 chipset.
The upcoming Nokia phone is expected to come bearing a price tag of EUR 749 in the European markets, while it is likely to sell for $699 in the U.S. and INR 44,999 in India.
Although nothing is set in stone yet, a report claims the device could hit the store shelves worldwide in the third quarter of the year. If this comes to fruition, Nokia fanatics might be able to get their hands on the Nokia 9 smartphone around August.
It's worth noting that the Nokia 8, on the other hand, is said to come with Snapdragon 660, QHD screen and Nokia 7 with 1080p, S660. Both the smartphones are likely to arrive in mid-May or early June. Details about the cost of the Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 are scarce.
