While customers across the globe continue waiting with bated breath for the Windows 10 Creators Update to roll out on Aprill 11, more details about the highly anticipated free update have surfaced online. Let's delve straight into it.

Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President, Windows and Devices Group confirmed in a blog post that the Windows 10 Creators Update a.k.a. 1703 will arrive on April 11. The Redmond-based software giant will probably roll the Creators Update serially over a few months.

The timeframe in which a user's PC will get the update is based on his/her device type. For the past few months, Windows Insider users have been testing the Creators Update, which has helped Microsoft to fix some of the hidden flaws.

The first official procedure to downloading the Windows 10 Creators Update aside from the Windows Insider program kicks off Wednesday, April 5. Anyone on the Anniversary Update (build 1607) will be able to download and run the Windows 10 Update Assistant and get their hands on the Creators Update manually. However, it's highly unlikely all 400 million Windows 10 users will be able to acquire the Creators Update at the same time.

How To Use Windows 10 Update Assistant

First off, the user must get the EXE file from Microsoft and run it on April 5. If the Creators Update is up for grabs, the Update Assistant will guide the user through the entire process.

Although Microsoft says this method is recommended for advanced users, PC World's contributor, Ian Paul claims it's not really that hard. However, those who aren't quite comfortable with the manual installation process are advised to wait for the Creators Update to be released automatically to their machines.

Until Tuesday, only a Windows Insider could acquire the Creators Update by downloading build 15063. Users, who have already been installing Fast ring updates, should already have access to the aforesaid build.

Windows 10 Creators Update: How To Install

While the Creators Update will not automatically roll out via Windows Update on Tuesday, April 11, some users may have to wait even longer as this take a few weeks. However, even before the update comes to a machine, a user can prompt the upgrade by following the steps below:

Go to Start> Settings> Update & security> Windows Update> Check for updates. Alternatively, a user can download the Windows 10 ISO on April 11 through the MediaCreationTool.
