Samsung was able to launch another set of flagship devices despite the troublesome year it has gone through. The company is hoping that the entry of the popular king of Androids in the smartphone arena this year would somehow shift the focus of the consumers from the ill repute the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has caused the company.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is hyped up prior to its launch. The latest devices according to The Verge will be released on April 21. The latest flagship device from the South Korean tech giant boasts of an impressive specs and features. Let us check how it fares with other big names in the market today including the LG G6, Google Pixel, and the iPhone 7.

The Samsung Galaxy S87 will run on Android 7.0 Nougat. On the other hand, Google Pixel is running on Android 7 while the LG G6 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. The iPhone 7, which is the only non-android among the selection, runs on its own iOS 10 operating system.

As for the camera specs, the Samsung Galaxy S8 has an 8MP front camera similar to that of Google Pixel. On the other hand, the LG G6 sports a 5MP front camera while the iPhone 7 boasts its 7 MP front snapper. With the rear camera, as it was revealed, the iPhone 7, Google Pixel and the LG G6 have the better camera equipped with 12 MP f/1.8, 12.3 MP f/2.0, and Dual cameras: 13MP, f/1.8; 13MP, f/2.4 respectively. While the Samsung Galaxy S8 only have 12MP and f/1.7 camera specs.

Features wise, the Samsung Galaxy S8 sports a fingerprint sensor, IP68, and an iris scanner. The Google Pixel has IP53, and fingerprint sensor. The LG G6, on the other hand, boasts MIL-STD-810G-tested shock resistant, IP68, and fingerprint sensor. On the other hand, the iPhone 7 flaunts the IP67, lightning connector and TouchID.

As for their prices, currently, Google Pixel has a starting price of $649 and an off-contract price of $749. The LG G6's price is dependent on its carrier and has a starting price of $650. On the other hand, the iPhone 7 has a price ranging between $649 and $849 while the Samsung Galaxy S8 is at $720 according to tech radar.
