Despite a previous assurance given by Nintendo, the NES Classic Mini has once again run out of stocks. Leaving many enthusiasts with over-priced units from various online resellers.

According to Express, fans of the NES only have one option if they want to buy the unit. Unfortunately, it costs more than the usual retail price, leaving a lot of users no other choice.

Certainly, the news puts Nintendo on an impending production crisis. Several rumors are already suggesting that they might have no answer to the heavy demand.

There are already talks online that Nintendo has suspended the production of the NES. The company was quick to denounce the rumor and said that they are doing their best to stop the shortage.

In the same post from Express, the company also said that they are always wary of filling out the shortage. The only problem so far is the massive demand for the NES Classic Mini Edition.

Nintendo said that every time the NES gets restocked it gets sold out in a matter of days. The unit is either bought by game aficionados or online re-sellers. Several resellers have taken advantage of the situation by overpricing the classic console.

Apparently, the unit costs $59.99 dollars in select U.S. retailers and £49.99 for the U.K. market. Amazon offers the console for $169 while other retailers sell it as much as $250.

Previously, Tatsumi Kimishima has assured fans that there is nothing to worry about. He said that Nintendo is doing its best to find a solution to the NES supply problem.

As of writing the company's UK website indicated that the console is out of stock. Select US retailers have also had posted that the NES is having a supply shortage.
