Lenovo officially unveiled its ThinkPad Tablet 2 back in August, introducing the device as its first Windows 8 slate. The 10-inch tablet seems aimed at the business and executive market, and will come equipped with Windows 8 Pro and the full Office 2013 suite.

The ThinkPad Tablet 2 packs a 10.1-inch HD display with a 1366 x 768 resolution, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, LTE (Long-Term Evolution) and NFC (Near-Field Communication) functionality, USB ports, stylus, and a claimed battery life of 10 hours. The processor is not yet confirmed, but recent rumors point towards an Intel Clover Trail clocked at 1.8GHz.

More details about the tablet have surfaced now, as someone at Lenovo apparently spilled the beans on how much the company plans to charge for the upcoming ThinkPad Tablet 2. Until now, the tablet was rumored to cost between $600 and $700, but most rumors were not certain whether the price would include the keyboard. Some Windows 8 tablets such as the Asus Vivo Tab and Vivo Tab RT, for instance, have keyboard docks that are sold separately.

Now, WPCentral reported it ran into Lenovo representatives at the PepCom conference in New York. Lenovo representatives reportedly told the site that the ThinkPad Tablet 2 will cost $799, and confirmed the slate will launch on Oct. 26, on the same date Windows 8 is released.

The price reportedly includes the keyboard, as well as the full Office 2013 suite. What remains unclear, however, is whether the options dock, which packs an HDMI out port, three USB ports, and an Ethernet port, will be included in the same price or sold separately. The price is higher than previously rumored, but may be explained by the fact that Lenovo targets enterprise users and not consumers with its ThinkPad Tablet 2.

"While users will like the tablet for its aesthetics and powerful features, IT managers will particularly enjoy its security-enhanced and manageability technologies," Lenovo stated in its press release back in August.
