Tech companies are joining the bandwagon in making smartwatches nowadays. With LG's latest entry in the market, let us check it side by side the popular Samsung Gear S3 and see how LG Watch Sport fares in terms of hardware design, software, and overall user experience.
The LG Watch Sport is a big smartwatch that measures 45.4 x 51.2 mm. The Samsung Gear S3 has nearly the same footprint at 46 x 49 mm, which appears to be more rugged and bulky. LG Watch Sport manage to squeeze in a better screen-to-front-face ratio with a 1.38-inch and has a higher resolution at 480x480, says Android Central.
On the other hand, the Samsung Gear S3's has a 360x360 resolution. It also has a 1.3-inch screen display. Both smartwatches provide high pixel density, automatic brightness and are made of stainless-steel bodies. The big difference of these two high-end smartwatches is their software and platform. The LG Watch Sport runs on Google's latest Android Wear 2.0 software. The Samsung Gear S3, on the other hand, utilizes Samsung's Tizen Wearable OS platform.
Both smartwatches work with the most recent Android phones, with the Samsung Gear S3, however, you need to install the smartwatch apps from your phone, which then will automatically pair with the watch. Furthermore, both smartwatches have GPS, Bluetooth, are water, and dust resistant. The level of resistance is enough to withstand splashes. These two smartwatches have so much in common given their different manufacturers and platforms.
