Nintendo released "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" on March 3. Just hours after its release, a developer had it running on PC Emulators.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" officially rolled out for the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch on Friday. On Sunday, it was already running in Cemu, a Wii U emulator that has been in development as early as 2015. Exzap, a Cemu developer, posted a short video of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's" opening on Reddit. He showed the remarkable progress for a brand new game in a comparatively young emulator. Most often, numerous games cannot get past the opening menu or crash on boot. In his video, however, the game was seen running on a PC with an i7-4790K and a GTX 780.

Although "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is now rolling on PC, however, there are still some issues that need to be resolved to make it playable. Currently, the game is creeping along at about 10-15 frames per second as seen on the video. The process of emulating a console is an extremely complex process, and even having more horsepower at the game will not be sufficient to make it run smoothly.

Exzap said on Reddit that the audio was muted because the sound produced was only white noise. He added that there are plenty of bugs, which makes "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" unplayable. He also mentioned about Physic glitches as well as rune abilities that entail object selection do not work. Moreover, the developer said that with the emulator, it is impossible to leave the tutorial if you do not use save.

According to Exzap, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" ran after few issues that prevented it from going in-game were resolved. He was also surprised to see the game running this far with no additional work required, reported PC Gamer.
