Looks like "Pokemon Sun And Moon" players are in for a treat! The huge fanbase of Game Freak's hit RPG now has an opportunity to power-up their Mewtwo via Pokemon.com's giveaway.
A giveaway, comprising a Mewtwonite X and one Mewtwonite Y, has been discovered. With the said giveaway, trainers can mega-evolve the aforementioned Pokemon. Let's check out how you can claim the recently surfaced giveaway.
Getting Your Hands On Free Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y
To get hold of the free Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y, you need to first activate the special code and to do so, there are a few steps you have to follow. The aforesaid code includes "M2DESCENT," which has to be entered in "Pokemon Sun And Moon" on the Mystery Gift menu, according to Siliconera.
Fret not if you do not know exactly how to input the special code as IGN has come out with a guide to capturing Mewtwonite X or Mewtwonite Y, and evolving into Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y:
First off, select Mystery Gift on the main menu of "Pokemon Sun" or "Pokemon Moon"
Select Receive Gift. Then select Get with Code/Password, then Yes, and then select Yes one more time to connect to the internet
Now, enter the "M2DESCENT" code
This will take you to a scene where you'd receive Mega Stones
You can acquire the Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y from any Pokemon Center in "Pokemon Sun And Moon"
Save the game once you've received the Mega Stones
It's worth noting that Mewtwo cannot be directly taken from "Pokemon Sun And Moon," however, it can be moved from a game it was originally caught in via Pokemon Bank. To make use of the Mega Stone, just give it to Mewtwo to hold. You can then go for the option to Mega Evolve while in battle.
Catching Mewtwo In 'Pokemon Sun And Moon'
Usually, trainers cannot capture Mewtwo in both "Pokemon Sun" and "Pokemon Moon." However, they can make use of the Pokemon Bank to transfer Mewtwo captured in a different version of a game.
Using the above steps, you can move Mewtwo, captured outside of "Pokemon Sun And Moon," into the main title. Even when transferred to another game, the legendary Pokemon does not lose its Pokemon I.D, trainer, moves or original stats.
Mega Mewtwo X vs. Mega Mewtwo Y
Although Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y evolve from the same Pokemon, each has their unique strength, which basically depends on its trainer's battle style. Moreover, they have a striking difference in some of their stats, utilizing each in specific situations.
Mega Mewtwo X boasts comparatively higher attack and defensive stats than Mega Mewtwo Y. This implies that Mega Mewtwo X can inflict incredible damage with its physical moves.
Mega Mewtwo Y, on the other hand, has higher special attack coupled with special defense and quickness compared to Mega Mewtwo X. Aside from that, it can deal more damage while using non-contact attacks -- an area the original Mewtwo first specialized in.
