The Oculus Rift goggles and Touch controller will be having a price drop, the announcement was made by the Facebook-owned VR company last Wednesday. The Oculus price drop will allow consumers to purchase both the Rift goggles and touch controller for $600.

The Virtual Reality market has experienced quite a surge starting last year with the launch of a number of VR headsets. The high demand for VR gears did not, however, mean that consumers will pay huge amounts to experience high-quality VR experience if there are options that provide decent output but without the high price tag.

The Oculus Rift virtual reality gear has been one of the leading VR gear in terms of technology. However, with its $600 price tag for the VR headset alone, the sales of the Facebook-owned company did not really go as high as it is projected to be.

Now, Oculus has decided to bring the prices of its VR headset and Touch controller to rich a wider consumer market. Consumers can now get the Oculus Rift headset and the Touch controller for the reduced price of $600.

Before the Oculus Rift price drop, its VR headgear and Touch controller cost $800 for both. With the $200 price drop, more consumers may just be tempted to try on the VR company's products.

The Oculus Rift headset alone was being sold for $600 before the price drop. Now, consumers can get the headset for $500. The Touch controller also got a $100 price drop from its original $200 price tag.

The Oculus Rift discount brings the VR company's product closer, in terms of price, to the PlayStation VR. The price drop will also separate the VR company's prices from the $800 HTC Vive VR gears.

The Oculus Rift VR headset and Touch controller price drop are now live. The company also revealed that they are currently studying the possibilities of Augmented Reality (AR) technology.
