As players begin to reach level 80 in Guild Wars 2, the maximum level, a criticism emerging is the lack of endgame content. The criticism refers to no unique content just for level 80 players, despite the game being available for just under two weeks.

"We didn't want the endgame to be something you could only experience after a hundred hours of gameplay or after you reached some arbitrary number. We wanted it to be something that players got to experience evry step along the way, spread out across the entire world of Tyria," ArenaNet said. It refers to the ability to go back to low-level areas and be leveled down.

AreaNet also did not want players to have to master a new element of the game at level 80. Rather, it builds up from the tutorial to create a "journey" for players. The example given is the huge boss at the end of each race's tutorial area. "Guild wars 2 is a game about banding together with friends and completing strings to accomplish great things in a world ruled by uncertainty and challenge," it added. AreanNet referred to multi-part dynamic events.

The explorable mode of dungeons is for players that love "structured and difficult content." Each of the three paths in the dungeons "is a five-character delve into tough content that we designed to push the limits of teamwork and communication," the developers also said.

Also, "giant bosses" are in the world for players looking for "massive encounters." Legendary weapons are craftable, and expensive, options for players via the Mystic Forge that provide unique skins for weapons. An example is a weapon that looks like day and night, with a third option to the combine the two.

Explorers have the ability to search for Vistas, skill challenges, waypoints, and points of interest across Tyria that takes hours. Player cannot "trivialize" content due to high-level players downleveling. In other words, the player will not dominate areas. Races are also playable.

Guild Wars 2 is available now on PC.
