Firaxis Games has now released the latest update for "Sid Meier's Civilization 6". The free update called Australian Summer 2017 adds mod tools, multiplayer teams, game balances and other gameplay changes. Here are the patch notes and some changes for the Australian Summer 2017 free update.

TEAMS

Multiplayer Teams are now added to the game and it builds on the updates to the Alliance agreement. Players on teams will gain added benefits such as a boost for a tech or civic when one of the team members finishes research on tech or civic

Teammates share their war status against opponents and their allied status with opponents but not on their team. Also, teammates will be a single entity and work together to win or lose the game. The Religion and Culture Victories are now revamped to make it more cooperative.

MODDING TOOLS

The lobby and in-game UI is now updated to better show Additional Content details. "Sid Meier's Civilization 6" Development Tools are now added. These include FireTuner, Tools, Steam Workshop Uploader and ModBuddy.

STEAM WORKSHOP

New access mods created by the Steam community that can be accessed via Steam Workshop. Players can share their mods with the Steam community using the Steam Workshop uploader. ModBuddy will also get more updates in the future as a part of a modding SDK update later.

BALANCE CHANGES

The map generation and start position is now tuned. The ice generation is now updated to allow more for circumnavigation. Archery is not a leaf tech anymore and it is now required in Horseback Riding.

Stirrups now costs 390 and now in the late Medieval. It used to cost 300 and was at early Medieval. Square Rigging is now required in Industrialization, and Banking now requires Scientific Theory.

Rifling is now required for Stell, and Radio is now required for ComputersThere are also AI Tuning, Bug Fixes, Visual updates, Multiplayer updates, additional Audio and miscellaneous updates. Full patch notes can be accessed via the game's official website.

Meanwhile, fans also have received the release of another new bit of premium DLC, Australia, under leader Prime Minister John Curtin. "Sid Meier's Civilization 6" is available for OS X, Linux and PC.
