Chinese manufacturer OnePlus recently released their Hydrogen OS 3.0 which is based on Android Nougat 7.0 for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T devices. However, not all users may receive the update over-the-air and have to install it manually. With that, this is how you install the latest update to your OnePlus device shared by International Business Times.
It should be mentioned that users should proceed at their own risk and you will need TWRP installed on your device.
The size of the file is 1.2GB and you can download the OS here for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. You will need to download the GApps separately as Hyrdogen's version doesn't contain the same.
First you will need to activate your Developer Options. To do this, go to Settings, About Phone then tap Build Number a few times to enable Developer Options. After being enabled, go again to Settings and you will find the Developer Options. In there, enable USB debugging and OEM unlocking.
Download Minimal ADB and Fastboot Setup. Then unlock Bootloader by connecting your device to a PC. Navigate to the folder where ADB and Fastboot files are located and open a command prompt by pressing Shift then Right-Click and select Open Command Window.
Type this command: adb reboot bootloader
In Fastboot mode, use "fastboot devices" command to check if the device is connected.
Put your downloaded files in your device. Switch off your phone and reboot to recovery by holding Volume Down and Power buttons together. In recovery mode, go to Wipe option and then swipe to reset the device to factory settings. Install Hyrdogen OS and Gapps then reboot the device.
The new version of the Hydrogen OS offers increased stability of the camera app, improved Boot security, security patches, extends battery life and a new call recording facility.
