"NCIS" Season 14 episode 17 titled "What Lies Above" will see the return of Congresswoman Jenna Fleming (Mary Stuart Masterson), reports Carter Matt. According to the official synopsis for the said episode, Fleming will be returning to the CBS drama to convince Director Vance to enter the world of politics.
While Vance's decision still remains to be seen in "NCIS" Season 14 episode 17, the publication notes that it may be better for Vance to disregard Fleming's suggestion because this could mean another turnover for the team. The team went through major changes when Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) left in order to take care of his and Ziva's (Cote de Pablo) daughter.
There are also rumors that Mark Harmon may be the next to leave the team. As seen in "NCIS" Season 14 episode 16, the show referenced to the possibility that Harmon's character, Gibbs, will be promoted as the director.
Should Gibbs take on the position despite his previous statements that he does not want to get involved in the politics of such a position, Emily Wickersham told TVLine that this was a "big drop" for "NCIS" Season 14. Gibbs' decision will definitely change a lot of things for the show as well as the team.
There have been reports that Harmon may be considering to leave "NCIS" Season 14, especially because several viewers have been expressing concerns over Harmon's physical condition. If Gibbs takes on the role of a director, this would mean lesser airtime for Harmon as Gibbs.
