"Timeless" Season 2 renewal, cancellation odds are split equally in half, as NBC remains mum about the show's future on air. There have been speculations that the freshman series will be axed following the finale because of its low ratings.
However, fans who have loved the episodes of "Timeless" Season 1 began encouraging others to watch the series in hopes of getting a renewal from the network. Fans have become even more convinced that "Timeless" Season 2 renewal should happen following the Season 1 finale.
This has led to an increase in the "Timeless" Season 1 finale ratings, which garnered a total of 3.3 million viewers with a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographics. This is similar to the NBC drama's highest rating since Dec. 12, reports TVLine.
This made a lot of viewers optimistic about the "Timeless" Season 2 renewal on NBC, especially because they are wanting to learn more about the characters following the shocking season 1 finale. As Syfy Wire recaps, Lucy discovered that her mom is Rittenhouse during the finale episode.
Speaking with executive producers Eric Kripke and Shawn Ryan, the creators explained that this was the story they had in mind when they pitched the story for "Timeless" Season 1. The creators shared that they will be pitching their story for (a possible) Season 2 to NBC in April so they would not divulge any details about the show's future plot.
