Amidst multiple sources suggesting that Niantic Labs' mobile sensation, "Pokemon Go" is losing it luster, the game developer did not cease releasing new updates in the bid to keep trainers glued to the hit augmented reality game.
In line with this, "Pokemon Go" received a comprehensive generation 2 update that fans have restlessly been waiting for. The said update arrived this past Friday adding more than 80 new Pokemon to the mix.
'Pokemon Go' Plus Bracelets Are Back!
Catching some of these coveted creatures can be quite laborious. Not to mention, players' iPhone or Android battery gets toast. Probably, bearing that in mind, the studio has come out with Pokemon Go Plus bracelets giving smartphones some much-needed rest.
The Pokemon Go Plus is currently up for grabs on Amazon. Trainers need to shell out $45 to get their hands on one of these gadgets. Those who are willing to wait until next week for it to ship can purchase it for $35 by heading to Amazon.com from the "other sellers section" on the Pokemon Go Plus page.
Hatching Eggs Without Breaking Much Of A Sweat
Meanwhile, it looks like one of the key game mechanics is being crumpled by the limitations of smartphone hardware as some players are reportedly hatching eggs without moving out of the comfort of their homes.
Several players have discovered that in order to hatch their Pokemon eggs, they don't actually need to walk. Moreover, producing in-game steps is no longer a back breaking task either as players can now pretty much do it without leaving their couch.
How To Hatch An Egg Without Moving
The GPS on trainers' phones play a key role as far as hatching an egg is concerned. Some trainers noticed that the GPS tracking in "Pokemon Go" is quite faulty; in fact, if recently surfaced reports are anything to go by, it is likely to get worse.
"Pokemon Go" seemingly receives erroneous data from players' GPS system and then converts it into in-game movement. Players are calling this deviation from usual as "GPS drift."
"Pokemon Go" players are no stranger to a small amount of GPS drift; however, they are now realizing that it is worse than ever. Trainers on Reddit have been reporting about how simple it has become to hatch eggs owing to the app's unreliable location tracking. A Redditor known as Jackeynator who's using a Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone claimed he drifted almost 500 meters and even got hold of Dunsparce.
It's worth noting that trainers using Samsung devices, especially Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have reportedly achieved better drift than others. That being said, quite a few iPhone 5 users have noted that their handsets work well as far as racking up fake steps is concerned.
