The crowd-funded new video game "Hollow Knight" is set to be released on Feb. 24. The video game was first heard of in 2014 when a Kickstarter project aimed at collecting enough money to fund the creation and development of the video game.

"Holow Knight" is a new 2D game created and developed by the Australia-based game developer, Team Cherry. It is an action adventure game that will take players to a sprawling yet interconnected world.

The video game takes place in the eerie underground world of insects known as Hallownest located under the fading town of Dirthmout where players will have to explore twisted caverns while fighting enemies along the way. Intricate traps are also placed in the game that players should hurdle in order to move forward.

Players will be controlling the game's main protagonist and namesake, "Hollow Knight," throughout the game. As the game progresses, players will also be able to upgrade and make "Hollow Knight" an even fiercer warrior with a number of items and spells that can be found in the game.

Players are also given the ability to explore the minds of other bugs through Dream Well. "Hollow Knight" can discover treasures and secrets hidden in the mind of other characters with this feature. However, this will not come as easy because the mind is designed to eliminate any unwanted intrusions.

According to the Kickstarter project, a "Hollow Knight" Nintendo Wii U version was supposed to be launched after the crowd funding was able to reach the $50,OOO AUD mark. However, recent reports suggest that the plan will no longer push through as a Nintendo Switch "Hollow Knight" version will instead be released.

"Hollow Knight" is scheduled to be released for the Windows PC and Apple Mac on Feb. 24. No Nintendo Switch release date has been announced for the upcoming video game.
