The upcoming AMD Ryzen 5 1600X processor offers the same performance as that of Intel i7 6800K. The AMD Ryzen 5 1600X is priced at $260 while the Intel processor is valued at $670.

The AMD's upcoming Ryzen CPU family, with the mid-range Ryzen 5 1600X features 6C/12T of CPU performance at 3.3GHz, and 3.7GHz under Boost. In addition, it comes with XFR pushing past 3.7GHz as the cooling scales. This is impressive considering the better cooling technology of a CPU is indicated by higher XFR, which pushes the frequency.

Early benchmarks specify that the AMD Ryzen 5 1600X shows that Cinebench R15 performance is very powerful. It scored almost at par with Intel's Core i7-6800K, a CPU that costs $170 more than Ryzen 5, at $430. In addition, it offers performance that is only slightly below of the Core i7-6850K, which costs $617.

The AMD Ryzen 5 1600X new CPU is 138 percent cheaper, under half the cost with the motherboard savings of about $100-$150. With these, it appears that the AMD Ryzen CPUs will be a big threat to Intel. Gamers can now have the option to get even faster PCs, with a substantial saving. AMD is back with its Ryzen CPUs' massive improvements in IPC. It also has an amazing multi-threaded performance and AMD is doing it while weakening Intel's prices by a massive chunk, says Wccftech.

Meanwhile, the next coming weeks will be one of the most exciting times in over 10 years for PC enthusiasts, gamers and the entire market at a whole. AMD is set to directly compete with Intel in a massive way with new CPUs and the next-gen Vega GPUs. AMD is rolling out the first consumer graphics card with HBM2 technology, combined with the high-end Vega GPU.
