Ever since the reveal of the seemingly random "Pokemon Sun and Moon" cinematic by Reddit user ronnknee, a Pokemon game for the Nintendo Switch has become a serious possibility. It remains unconfirmed, but the potential of a counterpart game to this seasons' "Pokemon" series has gotten fans all hyped up.

June 2017 will bring about the first ever E3 open for public attendance. This means players are hopeful that "Pokemon Stars" will join the Switch launch-year lineup, alongside "Super Mario Odyssey" and "Mario Kart."

The cutscene above was first discovered by Reddit user ronnkee, who found that transferring either Solrock or Lunatone to their respective games would lead to an interesting conversation with an apparent amnesiac. "Pokemon Sun and Moon" players can activate the cinematic by following the instructions posted on the Reddit thread.

Pokemon Stars: Space Setting and Star Pulses

The man mentions several points of interest; Star Pulses-which he's evidently "entrusted to a group of wonderful men,"-and his home, which is evidently space. According to Mic, this could suggest that a mission to the stars is imminent in "Pokemon Stars."

Currently, there have been no further clues provided as to whether these "star pulses" are good things, or if these "wonderful men" are slated to be the series' allies or antagonists. These, just like every other aspect of "Pokemon Stars," will hopefully be revealed during E3 2017.

Pokemon Stars to Follow Pattern

In a separate article, Mic points out that a 2018 release is more plausible, should "Pokemon Stars" be officially confirmed. For one, the game visuals would require a total rewrite to fit the Nintendo Switch's specs and capabilities. And while the possibility of seeing "Pokemon" in HD is very exciting, these things take time.

However, there's pretty good potential for a 2017 reveal of "Pokemon Stars." The Pokemon Company has already confirmed that it plans to create games for Nintendo Switch. And despite "Pokemon" games generally coming in pairs, Game Freaks is also known to release a third game after the initial launch of the first two, while still following the theme.

Pokemon Yellow followed Pokemon Red and Blue. Pokemon Emerald was the follow-up to Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. While Pokemon X and Y didn't have a third game, it's possible that "Pokemon Stars" may be the game to reignite this trend.
