Hajime Tabata has thrown more light on some substantial details centering on the "Final Fantasy XV" downloadable content (DLC) release pattern, while also explaining why specific characters are getting the red-carpet treatment.

Square Enix is currently hard at works on a series of new "FFXV" DLC, which comprises new playable characters, spearheaded by the companions hailing from the vanilla storyline. Apparently, the sequence to be followed by the new DLC in terms of story expansion and gaming mechanics was actually a perfect unification of thought-out process, and a decision taken just in the nick of time, according to Tabata.

It seems that Episode Gladio was always the first in line as far as downloadable content for the game is concerned. Moreover, the team behind the game is leaving no stone unturned in their bid to deliver amplified action battle gameplay for it.

During a recent chat with Dualshockers, Tabata revealed that after a long debate internally regarding whether Prompto or Ignis should be the next to go, the team finally decided to have Ignis as the lead character of the concluding bro-focused DLCs.

The decision was taken bearing the fact that the events of his episodes will comprehensively influence the story of "Final Fantasy XV" in mind. Aside from that, they need time to come out with an awe-inspiring experience, sort of keeping the best for last, he added.

Tabata did not spill the beans about the said big influence event, meaning, "FFXV" fans will have to continue waiting with bated breath until more details surfaces later this year, as "Final Fantasy XV" DLCs are scheduled to roll out throughout 2017.

Not too long ago, it was revealed that downloadable content is slated to launch simultaneously with a new update for the base title on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. During the Active Time Report stream, Square Enix announced that an update for the thirteenth chapter of "FFXV" is in the works, Express reported.

It will be up for grabs on March 28, which is the same day when the game developer is gearing up to release the new "FFXV" DLC on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
