Last week there was a report that LG's latest 5K UltraFine Mac display is having some troubles when brought near a Wi-Fi router. There were reportedly issues of the monitor not working when placed near the device. The issue was confirmed by an LG support official who was interviewed by 9to5Mac. The official also adviced users of the monitor to keep it at least 2 meters away from the wireless router.
A few days back, LG confirmed the issue to TechCrunch as well agreeing to the issue faced by their UltraFine 5K monitors built for Apple computers. So, both statements were partly similar except for the one stating a minimum distance of 2 meters which was later changed to 2 feet or 0.6 meters.
LG also offered a solution for this issue to its customers who bought the new LG 5K UltraFine display. The solution involves altering the location of the router or the monitor to resolve the problem. But, there are customers who still face issues, for which LG advices to visit the nearest customer care center for a quick service.
This might be applicable to the ones who have a larger workspace, but what about the ones who lack the area? Even for the ones who still face issues after moving the router away from the UltraFine 5K display should contact LG services as soon as possible.
LG's UltraFine 5K displays came out last year with the latest MacBook Pros. With a reported price tag of $1000, the company planned on introducing the new segment for Apple's desktops. Moreover, the company has also made an apology towards it customers for the inconvenience. With better internal shielding for the monitors, LG looks up to have better sales and reception from its highest definition displays this year.
