Eminem has launched a new diss attack about the newly elected President of the United States. The rapper re-appeared into the rap scene weeks before the November 8 election day.
Donald Trump was dissed in an eight-minute freestyle rap in Big Sean’s “No Favors.” “I’m anti / Can’t no Government handle a commando / I’ll make his whole brand go under,” read Eminem’s rap lyrics.
“But you should be afraid of this dang candidate / You say Trump don’t kiss a** like a puppet / ‘Cause he runs his campaign with his own cash for the fundin’ and that’s what you wanted / A f****n loose cannon who’s blunt with his hand on the button,” his rap continued.
Eminem’s lyric aggression was not only directed towards Donald Trump. He had also reserved some heated verses for Ann Coulter, who is quite known for her provocative statements. Eminem’s violent thoughts against An Coulter included wanting to run her over with a car, according to Rappler.
The news about this diss track reached Ann Coulter, and she is not happy. Coulter told TMZ that Eminem is a homophobe and a violent misogynist who is using “violent” and “ugly” lyrics to direct attention toward himself. “He is the one getting more publicity off of me,” she said.
As Eminem built his career in the rap industry in the 1990s, he was seldom described as political. However, he always identified with the political left in his interviews since then - even as his raps were oftentimes regarded as controversial for its derogatory statements about women and the LGBT community.
Eminem’s re-emergence with a diss rap is part of a larger trend in 2016. A lot of today’s hip hop artists joined forces against Trump, after almost thirty years of “idolizing his wealth and power,” as reported by CNN. Moreover, Eminem is also currently working on a new studio album - which would be his first after he left the scene in 2013.
