Last January 26, Bungie announced their newest patch that would be available for download come mid-February. The complete patch notes for Destiny HotFix 2.5.0.2 have yet to be released, but Bungie has already stated that the HotFix may potentially go live on February 14. Before that, they've got a special livestream preview of the HotFix in action scheduled for February 8 on their Twitch channel.

HotFix 2.5.0.2 Unpacking via Live Fire Exercise. According to Bungie's latest blog post of the week, Bungie will be hosting a livestream next Wednesday, February 8 at 10AM Pacific. They'll be "unpacking the contents of HotFix 2.5.0.2 in a live fire exercise," which means fans will get to see how the weapons and subclasses have changed before the actual patch release.

You can catch the stream next week via their Twitch channel. Aside from the live fire preview, they also plan to talk about combat. Some questions raised in the post are regarding the purpose for a different style of attack, how do they compare, and how are they all about to change?

HotFix 2.5.0.2 Overview. In the 'This Week on Bungie' posted dated January 26, Bungie released a quick list of goals they hope the HotFix will achieve. Aside from supporting adjustments to Special Ammunitions and fixing some in-game issues with a sampler platter of Exotics, HotFix 2.5.0.2 is also supposed to align the potency of Primary Weapons with surgical charges.

There are also a couple of issues with each class that they hope to tackle, as well as promoting alternatives and counters to Shotguns. Game Rant posits that the Shotguns may not get a nerf, as evidenced by Bungie before. However, other weapon classes may be buffed up instead, in order to level the playing field.

That's as much information as they've released so far regarding the patch. Thankfully, the details may be discussed live and in action next week. Catch the Destiny HotFix 2.5.0.2 livestream on their Twitch channel next week, February 8 2017, at 10AM Pacific.
