Based on the quarterly numbers that Apple has announced, the next flagship by the company might very well be the next best seller as larger iPhones tend to be more popular with users. According to T3, this might be a problem for Apple because the company possibly won't be able to meet the high demand.
The iPhone 7 Plus made record breaking sales, that suggests bigger screen gets more attention. The company is rumored to release an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and an iPhone 8 Premium model. The latter is reportedly going to sport a front and back glass and a translucent OLED screen, which could possibly make the same the next big hit.
The possible problem lies in the suppliers as it might not able to keep up with the high demand of the devices, this prompts Apple to only feature the OLED with the iPhone 8 Premium model, which means it will be in short supply. Thus, people who want to get their hands on the premium model need to move fast and pre-order the device as soon as possible.
In addition, Forbes shared that using OLED instead of LCD will have a brighter display, better contrasts and reduced power usage. This is certainly a step-up for Apple. The only problem is, other manufacturers, most notably Samsung, has already used this technology. Furthermore, other companies who use the OLED will release their smartphones months ahead of Apple's which puts the company at a disadvantage.
If Apple wants to repeat record-breaking sales for its latest flagship devices, they will need to stand out among the rest of its competitors. What are your expectations with the iPhone 8 devices? Write and share your thoughts down below the comments section.
