"Fire Emblem Heroes" is a free-to-play turned-based RPG by Nintendo scheduled to be released on Feb. 2, 2017 for Android and iOS devices. It is a mobile spin-off of the popular "Fire Emblem" series. Here are the things you should know and expect from the game according to Game Spot.

It Has Many of the Fire Emblem Basics

The game keeps many of its fundamentals from the franchise such as knowing how to attack an adjacent tile, triggering melee attacks and adjusting to attack on a one tile gap when using archers. Locations of the enemies should also be considered as obstructions may hinder your strategy.

It Looks and Sounds Like Fire Emblem

Despite being a mobile game, the wonderful graphics, animation and sound fit the Fire Emblem aesthetic, with its vibrant colors and anime-style character designs.

It Reveals Enemy Information Before Battle

The game reveals your enemies' individual strengths that allow you to form a team according to your opponents' information. This will certainly give you added advantage in battle, although not a guaranteed victory.

Old Characters Are Given Voices

The initial release of Fire Emblem 15 years ago didn't feature voice acting. However, with Heroes, old characters of the game are now given voices for the first time.

Four Vs Four Only

The most notable design change in this game is the match size, which is limited to only four versus four. This may be disappointing to some players, but it also mean short play sessions that is preferred by some just looking to kill some idle time.

Replay Incentives are Given

The game gives daily, weekly and monthly rewards as incentives to players who play the game on a regular basis.

The game will be available for download starting Feb. 2 on Google Play and App Store.
