"The Last of Us 2" has already spawned too many theories about its possible plot. However, new speculations from avid fans have started to surface recently, and it suggests a probable release date for the highly anticipated sequel.
Of course, "The Last of Us 2" hopefuls already have a commonly accepted heartbreaking notion that Joel will die. Blame Naughty Dog for stirring the controversy because they said that the second iteration of the series is going to be a story about hate. Since then, gamers have agreed that Joel's demise is the only potential trigger that could lead to Ellie's hate.
Mobile&Apps has previously discussed another possible shift from this theory. Ellie could have lost her partner in a budding love affair. This ala-Theseus "The Last of Us 2" theory is also an accepted prediction as of now although of lesser following compared to Joel's death.
TheWolfHall recently shared a theory based on the song Ellie is singing in "The Last of Us 2" trailer. Shawn James' song "Through the Valley" is analogous with verses from Psalm 23 of the Bible and it is audible in the trailer. Particular focus was also given to the fourth verse of the Psalm which has the words "walking in the valley of the shadow of death."
Of course it is a wild guess, but fans have started to speculate that the fourth verse combined with Psalm 23 could mean April 23- the sequel's probable release date. The same report boldly pegs April 23, 2019 as potential release date, given the time that Naughty Dog might be needing to make the masterpiece.
