Xiaomi began 2017 in India by launching its Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone in the country. The Beijing-based handset maker sold a whopping 250,000 units of the device on Mi.com and on online retailer website Flipkart, which according to the company is the biggest ever online only smartphone release in India.

Much to the delight of those who failed to get their hands on the Redmi Note 4 during the first flash sale that kicked off Jan. 23, Xiaomi is bringing the sale back and it is slated to take place at 12 p.m. on Jan. 30. Another sale of the smartphone on Mi.com is scheduled to take place on Feb. 3, BGR reported.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Price

Aside from offering EMI (equated monthly installment) options, Flipkart has a slew of other deals for those looking to purchase the Redmi Note 4 from their online store. These deals include a considerable five percent discount for users of Axis Bank Buzz credit card.

EMI starts as low as Rs. 631, which converts to about $9. Regrettably, the matte black edition of the Redmi Note 4 will not be up for grabs on Flipkart. But buyers can choose between the silver and dark gray color options.

Three variants of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 were launched in India on Jan. 19. These include a 32GB variant that packs 2GB of RAM and bears a price tag of Rs 9,999 (about $146), a 32GB variant with 3GB of RAM priced at 10,999 (about $161) and a high-end 64GB model with 4GB of RAM priced at 12,999 (about $190). However, only the 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM variants will be accessible, according to an announcement on Flipkart.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Specs

In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 sports a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display, which is covered by 2.5D Curved Glass. Under the hood, the smartphone packs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz.

The inbuilt storage can be further expanded with the help of a microSD card. In the photography front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 boasts an enhanced 13MP lens on the rear and a 5MP front shooter equipped with f/2.0 aperture for the selfie addicts.

Moreover, the smartphone packs a robust 4,100mAh battery, which is a minor upgrade from the 4,050mAh battery used in its precursor. But owing to the addition of the new 14nm Snapdragon SoC, Xiaomi warrants at least 25 percent improvement.

In terms of connectivity, the Redmi Note 4 comes with Dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G LTE with VoLTE support. But that's not all; Redmi Note 4 sports a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner just like its predecessor.

The Redmi Note 4 runs on Android Marshmallow MIUI 8. However, Xiaomi has guaranteed an Android Nougat update in near future and to uphold its claim, the company has also released the Android 7.0 Nougat preview for its users.
