Reports about Samsung's upcoming flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus release date, specs and price details have been hitting the web for quite some time now. New rumors about the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8 suggest that users will be able to turn their handset into an Android-running desktop computer.

Yes, you read it right. According to The Independent, the Samsung Galaxy S8 could be turned into a desktop computer simply by hooking to a dock, monitor and keyboard, all thanks to a new feature called desktop extension (DeX). The smartphone maker is expected to use DeX which will likely work in a similar manner to Microsoft's Continuum.

Interestingly, popular leakster Evan Blass has leaked an alleged picture of the upcoming Samsung smartphone. The Twitter post also mentions Samsung Galaxy S8 release date as March 29. Notably, the authenticity of the leaked picture is yet to be proved.

As far as Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus specs are concerned, the two handset models are rumored to feature 5.8- and 6.2-inch QHD Super AMOLED screens respectively. According to Venture Beat, the device screen will cover almost 83 percent of the front panels.

Among other features, the handset is likely to get Snapdragon 835 or Samsung Exynos processor depending on the market, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage with microSD expansion support, a 12-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, a 3000mAh battery for the 5.8-inch model and a 3500mAh battery for the 6.2-inch model. Reports are that Samsung's own digital personal assistant, dubbed Bixby, will also be making a debut.

Talking about the Samsung Galaxy S8 price, the 5.8 inch model is likely to cost around €799, while the 6.2-inch variant is expected to retail at €899. The handsets are rumored to go on sale in select countries starting April 21.
