It's not just gamers who are being worked up about next gen consoles, developers are in on the plot as well, and they are not happy. The most recent sign of developer distress about the lack of new consoles, is Crytek CEO, Cevat Yerli. Crytek is the developer behind the hit title, Crysis, which is available for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

In an interview with VG247, Cevat Yerli made it clear that developers have been ready a long time for the next generation of consoles from both Microsoft and Sony, which leaves us to believe we could see the Xbox 720 and PS4 launching in 2013, if only to ease the minds of top developers.

"The current generations are drying out, and the longer we wait for the next generation of consoles, the higher the likelihood that they could fall behind tablets in terms of being the first thing people reach for when the time comes to play games," Yerli said. "Tablets are putting pressure on the gaming industry, and taking over in some ways, so that should be kept in mind."

Crytek has been pushing its Cry Engine 3 development software as next generation ready since 2010, but with Epic Games getting Unreal Engine 4 up to speed and Square Enix proving it has not lost its graphical edge with its Luminous Engine; Crytek is in for some serious competition when the next generation begins in 2013, or so we hope.

We can't wait to see what Crysis looks like on the Xbox 720 and PS4. We doubt the graphics will be that of anything we have never seen before, since both consoles are not expected to surpass the graphical power of the most powerful PC gaming graphic card out right now.

Whatever the case may be however, we'll be waiting patiently at Prophet's return in the next gen console.
