Fort those looking for a good deal on Windows-based laptops this Back to School season, you'll be happy to know that Microsoft is offering a deal that shouldn't be missed, because, well, it's a damn good deal. The company has been running its "buy a PC for college, get a Xbox 360" promotion for quite a while now, but the deal has since gotten sweeter thanks to Windows 8.
Now when you buy a PC from any Microsoft Store, Newegg.com, Best Buy, or directly from HP or Dell, not only would you be able to get a free Xbox 360, you'll also get Windows 8 Pro for the cool price of $14.99, how awesome is that? Microsoft hasn't announced when this deal might end, but to be on the safe side, you should consider jumping on the bandwagon as soon as possible.
Something worth noting:
The free Xbox 360 in question is the slimmer Xbox 360 S model with 4GB worth of storage. It's basically the version everyone hates, but since it's free, no complaints should be forthcoming. We are surprised Kinect is not a part of this deal, which would have surely put the icing on the cake no doubt.
Another thing, this deal is only for students, so if you're not one, well, you can always try to become a student for a day just to get in on this deal, then defect after. Hey, this could truly work out in our favor if you choose to try it, we're just saying.
