It has been few days after "Resident Evil 7" has been released, but Capcom is not quite giving players more treats as it teased the next DLC for the horror game. It seems that Capcom is keeping up with the positive reviews that "Resident Evil 7" is enjoying - and they want it to stay that way.
A bit of bad news for PC and Xbox One players, "Resident Evil 7" has an exclusive deal with Sony. This means that the first DLC called "Banned Footage Volume 1" will be released on the PlayStation 4 first, but will be released to the other plaftorms on a later date. This DLC offers a mode with an interesting tagline "Ethan Must Die."
"Resident Evil 7" is offering "Banned Footage Volume 1" for $10 on Jan. 31. However, season pass holders can get the DLC for free albeit $30 cost for the pass. "Resident Evil 7" Deluxe Edition owners can also get the first DLC for free, GeeksUnlimited said.
"Banned Footage Volume 1" starts with "Resident Evil 7" protagonist Ethan being locked in a room. From there on, the hero needs to figure out how to free himself while making sure he is stealthy as to avoid being discovered by antagonist Marguerite Baker.
"Resident Evil 7" also offers a nightmare mode where Ethan has to defend himself against a slew of devilish attacks, and survive until dawn. "Banned Footage Volume 1" also sports a console-only "Ethan Must Die" which offers a "tough-as-nails" gameplay as described by Capcom.
"Banned Footage Volume 2" features the mode called "Jack's 55th Birthday" and is available starting Feb. 14. "Resident Evil 7" offers the second DLC for $15, but with the same freebie for season pass holders.
"Jack's 55th Birthday" is a comical addition to "Resident Evil 7" where players need to satisfy Jack's bottomless appetite before they themselves get eaten. It is a race against the clock where tons of disgusting menu has to stop Jack from the idea of eating his host.
