FIFA 13, which is one of the most anticipated video games on slated for release this year, is gearing up to become launch title for the Nintendo Wii-U video gaming console, together with Mass Effect 3 and Madden 13. What's interesting with the Wii-U versions of the games, is the inclusion of touchscreen features on the Wii-U Gamepad. Hopefully it is enough to sway minds to purchase a console no one seems to want.
The touchscreen features in FIFA 13 will enable players to easily switch defenders during an ongoing game. Furthermore, the touchscreen can be used for passing the ball, either short or long, giving the player greater control over what goes on in the game.
Madden 2013 on the other hand, will allow gamers to draw plays and player path by way of using the touchscreen. That's about it for Madden 2013, nothing rather interesting, but that is to be expected with a console that is rather new.
When it comes to Mass Effect 3, the Wii-U version will get all the Downloadable Contents that are already available on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Not only that, Mass Effect 3 will also take advantage of the Wii-U Gamepad by allowing players to get quick access to character abilities, and along as a map.
The touchscreen features of each game is not truly exciting. However, it is good to see developers taking advantage of the Wii-U's unique features instead of pushing it aside like a runt.
The final launch date of the Wii-U is yet to be announced. However, we expect Nintendo to make everything known very soon since the company is aiming to have the console on store shelves by the end of the year.
