2011 was the year when the movie franchise of "Harry Potter" came to an end with "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2". Fans have ever since hoped for new movies to be added to the series. "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them" began its own independent series in 2016 but it is more of a spin-off where the original characters of "Harry Potter" won't be discussed a lot. However, a news has been leaked recently that suggests "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" will be produced as a trilogy by Warner Bros and the actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson will be reprising the beloved roles of Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
If these actors are indeed returning to reprise their famous characters, what is the role of author J.K. Rowling in this scenario? The news of the three actors returning to the new (continued) franchise comes from leaks reported by Movie Pilot. Journalist and historian Jim Hill seemed to know about the subject at hand when he stated that the original actors for Harry, Ron, and Hermione would be coming back for the "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" movie series.
"I have heard that Warner Bros. has actually had conversations with [Emma], with Rupert, and, of course, Daniel about 'Cursed Child,' because they want this to be, for lack of a better term, 'Harry Potter: The Force Awakens.' They want this trilogy of movies to have the actors that we know and love from the original films, that we watched grow up, as adults," said Hill.
He said that not only did he know the exact date of the first movie in the "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" trilogy, his solid contacts also told him that Daniel, Rupert, and Emma are making a solid comeback! Needless to say, this has made everyone quite excited and the fans are desperately hoping that this news holds some water. An amalgamation of old and new actors from the franchise would make for a great watch indeed. However, as soon as this news started making the rounds of internet, Rowling dispelled the rumors by this one tweet.
Is it just something to kill the rumor? Or just a way to hide the news until the production house decides to come with a proper schedule in mind. Warner Bros. Pictures filed for a trademark filing on the movie adaption of the book that was released last summer itself.
