Just a week before the official release of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child", the London stage production has released the cast photos of characters in costume.

The first set of photographs feature the Potter family, with Harry, Ginny and their son Albus Severus Potter. The character portraits, which debuted on Pottermore, mark the debut appearance of Jamie Parker at Harry Potter, with the infamous scar across his forehead and the glasses.

Notably, the pictures also include Poppy Miller in the role of Harry's wife Ginny, and Sam Clemmett as their son Albus.

The storyline of "Cursed Child" is set 19 years after the final book of "Harry Potter", with Potter presently working for Ministry of Magic. Additionally, just like his father once was, Albus is struggling "with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted", according to People Magazine.

"There's much I could say about Sam-as-Albus, but we'd be into spoiler territory, so quickly I'll just say we couldn't has cast it better," author J.K. Rowling said of the young actor.

In addition, while Rowling has been silent about Potter and his family, she couldn't help but feel excited about Parker's transformation into the grown - up Harry.

"He simply is Harry now," she said. "There's a kind of relief in watching him, he gets it so right."

Meanwhile, when Parker was asked about his role, he mentioned, "It's a unique gig in the sense that you have seven volumes of back story that you get to bring on with you. And we were all very keen to make sure that the first time you see Harry it just feels right."

As for Miller's role Rowling was happy about the character's personalization. She said, "I think a lot of people would like to have Poppy's Ginny for a mother. Kind and cool, exactly as I imagined her."

Thus, it is yet to be seen if the actors of the sequel will be able to live up to the expectations of the audience. Previews of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" begin at Palace Theatre on June 7.
