Although the 2016 MacBook Pro was well-received, users criticized the machine's reduced battery life, run of the mill specifications and extinct expansion ports. This compelled Apple executives to justify their design decisions.

The Cupertino-based tech firm is likely to amend MacBook line's rundown reputation by addressing at least some of the aforesaid problems by beefing up battery life and adding more powerful elements. Aside from that, Apple could finally decide to give professional Mac users the larger RAM they have been clamoring for, according to ZDNet.

In line with this, multiple sources have been reporting that Apple will revive the lauded MacBook line sometime this year. All MacBooks are predicted to receive at least minor updates, bringing in some much-needed improvements.

2017 MacBook Pro Refresh: What To Expect

Bearing the needs of professional users in mind, Apple is likely to equip its high-end MacBook Pro models with a colossal 32GB of "potentially desktop-class" RAM in 2017. The 12-inch MacBook variant, on the other hand, is expected d to receive 16GB of RAM.

According to a note to investors acquired by AppleInsider, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims Apple's MacBook 2017 line will concentrate on updating internal component, especially platform-wide adoption of the Intel's Kaby Lake architecture. The Intel Skylake CPUs used in the current generation of the MacBook Pro does not support beyond 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM.

There's word floating around that Apple could start manufacturing a 15-inch MacBook Pro equipped with up to 32GB of RAM in Q4 2017. Aside from the uber classy 15-inch model, Apple is said to start working on new 13 and 15-inch MacBook Pro variants sometime in Q3 2017.
