Fox Sports has confirmed that it will stream the Super Bowl 51 on the Fox Sports Go app. The best part is that the steam is for free, apart from the promise of continuously streaming the game alone and commercial-free.

The company has a different plan, which involves the airing of local commercials coming from 170 stations, setting aside the national commercials. According to Engadget, there is no longer the need for a pay-tv login this time around, with the users permitted to watch through Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire, Chromecast and Xbox One. They can also be watched via Android, Fire tables, Windows and iOS devices. More than that, users can watch even without cable subscription or anything similar.

As per Fox Sports' official site, COO and executive producer Eric Shanks said he has a greater vision for the upcoming stream on February 5. "As part of the buildup to this year's Super Bowl, we're committed to creating the best possible experience for fans by dramatically expanding the ways and places in which they can watch the game," he noted.

"Our pioneering collaboration with our affiliates to allow streaming local ad insertions will make commercials even more relevant for viewers and help make this year's game even more of a personal experience for every fan," added Shanks.

Furthermore, the executive vice president and COO of Nexstar Broadcasting Group and chairman of the FOX Affiliates Board of Governors said that this move enables a more stable connection of FOX and the aforementioned affiliates. This makes for a more interactive digital means of disseminating brands. Jones said that they are looking forward to further tie-ups with FOX, eventually.

FOX is known to be the first network to release live streaming of primetime entertainment programming on a national scale. It is once again launching FOX NOW Live in 210 national markets respectively. Local affiliates showcase digital ads, as well.
