In the past week, the official Android 7.0 Nougat update was rolled out for Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge to some of the beta users and the tech giant is now starting to release the over-the-air (OTA) update to everyone in the UK and China markets. Previous reports say that the update will be released Jan. 17 worldwide and it seems that the company is just in the right timing.

The Android 7.0 Nougat update is about 1.2 GB that had some bugs initially, especially in China and said to be pulled just before its being released again on Jan. 17. There is no word yet as to when it should hit the non-Exynos versions that were sold in the United States carriers, according to Phone Arena but since the beta testing stage is done and has been cleaned up, the wait shouldn't be that long.

As per Samsung Customer Consultant Guide slides, there are no less than 20 new features as well as visuals that appear to be brought in with the Android 7.0 Nougat software update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge and few of these are inherent for Android 7 such as the App shortcuts for default Samsung apps and/or the multi-window mode. Howbeit, there are still others that belong to Samsung's new UX and this is not about the settings menu's different icons or the shade background changes in the notifications.

However, there are still some Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge users who are still unable to upgrade to Google's operating system as the devices don't show any availability for the OS although there are already owners who are finally getting access to Android 7.0 Nougat, according to Express. Some of them have tweeted the images of their devices already downloading the software.

The Android 7.0 Nougat introduces major updates and improvements. It includes new emojis, launcher shortcuts that add 3D-Touch-esque features to the homescreen and Google's new GIF keyboard.
