The next iPhone release is believed to have wireless charging when it launches this year. This feature is expected to a be a big help to busy users who want to maximize their use of the smartphone.
Wireless charging feature coming
In a recent report, Telegraph noted that the wireless charging feature thought to be part of the iPhone 8 would allow owners to recharge their devices without plugging it into a power source. It was added that an inductive technology would make this wireless charging possible.
Gadgets NDTV added that Apple is now a member of the Wireless Power Consortium, an organization which sets standards for wireless charging. This makes rumors about the iPhone 8 coming with a wireless charging closer to reality.
Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
Wireless charging was earlier introduced in the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge in 2016. "Apple is an active member of many standards development organisations, as both a leader and contributor," Apple was quoted by Gadgets NDTV as saying. The tech giant also noted that it is looking forward to contribute with the wireless standard set by the Wireless Power Consortium.
The brand is also believed to have joined the group as it wants to catch up with other companies who have introduced and those who are developing smartphones with wireless charging. This feature is said to be a next-gen offering which could be available for almost all smartphones in the future.
Other iPhone features
Apart from wireless charging, Telegraph indicated that the iPhone 8 could have an OLED curved display. There is also the possibility that Apple will do away with the Home Button because of an edge-to-edge display design.
Fans are also hoping that the iPhone 8 will have longer battery life and a better 3D technology when it becomes available. What other features would you like to see in the iPhone 8?
