"Mario Kart 8" is a truly amazing racing game of this generation and is more content-rich than any other "Mario Kart" games ever developed. Nintendo recently announced that "Mario Kart 8" Deluxe will not feature any new tracks on Nintendo Switch. However, there will be new characters, battlegrounds and weapons. The game is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated launch window games for the Switch console though it is already available on Wii U.
As Nintendo Everything reports via Famitsu, Nintendo confirmed at the Nintendo Switch Experience 2017 that there will be a total number of 48 race tracks in "Mario Kart 8" Deluxe. It is exactly the same number as that in the Wii U installment. No additional tracks has been a bit of a turn-off for fans as new tracks would have been amazing incentives for those already having the Wii U iteration of the blockbuster kart racing franchise, writes Game Rant.
Nintendo may add new tracks in future via "Mario Kart 8" DLCs though for now, players will have to play on the available 48 tracks. A popular rumor doing rounds is that a "Mario Kart 9" is already in the works and that is the reason Nintendo has not added new courses in the "Mario Kart 8" game. Those Nintendo Switch console will also have another blockbuster game "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."
The revamped "Kart" also marks the debut of the Inklings on the Switch and this should lead nicely to the release of "Splatoon 2" on Switch later this summer. "Mario Kart 8" will debut exclusively on Nintendo Switch on April 28, 2017. As WWG notes, "Mario Kart 8" Deluxe will feature all new stages built specially for balloon battles. Up to now, fans have been treated to four such stages though there will be many more in the retail version of the game.
