Samsung had recently officially unveiled its Chromebook Plus and Chromebook Pro at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017. Shortly after the launch, consumers took the two new laptops to the tests and compared them to their strongest competitors in today's laptop industry.

The Chromebook Pro and Chromebook Plus were compared head-to-head with Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 and Apple's iPad Pro. There were varied comments from those who tested the devices, but they all agreed that Samsung's laptops have proven to be of high competence.

"There is a lot to like about Samsung's new Chromebooks," said Max Parker of Trusted Reviews. "I think they are the perfect Android tablet replacement." According to Parker, the laptops had a "great" screen display and a "decent" battery pack. "There is enough grunt under the hood to get the job done," he added.

Kevin Lee of Tech Radar deduced that the two laptops feature relatively the same specifications. However, he did point out that he was more impressed with the Chromebook Pro's performance for breaking "new ground for Chrome OS with a built-in stylus." "It could be the best tablet-laptop for managing our lives," Lee said. "This is one of the best built Chromebooks yet, with a high-res screen designed to consume media on the Web."

Dan Seifert of The Verge was satisfied with the performance of both laptops. However, he is not sure if the Chromebook duo will be able to "ignite a fire among consumers." "But, they do appear to be competent devices with fewer restrictions than earlier ChromeOS machines," Seifert commented.

Clearly, Samsung's Chromebook Pro and Chromebook Plus are being compared to their rivals. The main difference between the two are their processors. The Chromebook Pro is using an Intel Core m3, while the Chromebook Plus is using an OP1 hexa-core ARM processor.
