As increasingly more consumers are shifting their attention to tablets in what many call a post-PC era, the tablet market is rapidly becoming crowded and highly competitive. Among strong players such as Apple and now Google with its Nexus 7 tablet, Huawei is seeking its own sweet spot in this market.
Huawei's upcoming MediaPad 10 FHD is due to launch next month, but the company has already released a new promotional video to give consumers an insight of what to expect. The tablet looks quite impressive, and the video has several exciting features to tout ahead of the official launch.
The MediaPad 10 FHD sports several notable features, but the most impressive one touted in the video is the incredible 1920 x 1200 IPS display. Other features touted in the promotional video include the tablet's 8.8mm thickness, its quad-core CPU, as well as its 16-core GPU, promising to provide a "smooth" gaming experience. Moreover, the tablet also comes with the ability to connect to a keyboard and turn it into a touchscreen laptop.
Huawei's upcoming 10-inch tablet also packs an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with dual LED fill-flash and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream sandwich. Combined with the other features touted in the video, the MediaPad 10 seems to shape up as a serious competitor within the tablet market.
The MediaPad also sports a "refined metallic surface" and a "luxurious yet subtle" nature, and is expected to cost less than $500. Meanwhile, Google just started shipping its Nexus 7 tablet, which starts at a $199 price tag for the 8GB version. Huawei's promotional video does tout some exciting features, but the tablet would have to sport an enticing price tag as well in order to compete with Google's offering.
There is no exact launch date for the MediaPad 10, but Huawei said it should be available in late August. It remains unclear, however, whether August is also the timeframe for the international release. In the meantime, check out the company's promotional video below and see what this tablet has to offer. Days will fly by until the launch.
