"NCIS" and "NCIS: New Orleans" are reported to be having a crossover episode in the coming days. This was not the first time that the two series teamed up as it also did the same thing last year. The project was met with good feedback so the producers are doing it again in 2017.
The reports of the crossover between "NCIS" and "NCIS: New Orleans" was announced on Jan. 13, Carter Matt reported. There are many reasons why CBS is going for this mash-up between the two shows, but the foremost explanation is simply, it produce good viewership ratings.
This could be especially true in the case of "NCIS" Season 14 because there were recent rumors that it is facing cancellation. Crossovers tend to draw more audience so with the two programs combined, there is higher chance for the episode to be a hit.
It was suggested that Gibbs would be working alongside Pride when the crossover happens. The two of them, working side by side, would be a refreshing sight to the viewers. It would make a really cool story because of possible unexpected turn of events.
In any case, a new report debunks the cancellation rumors as it was said that the show is continuing on to the next season. "NCIS" Season 15 will be on air soon despite the fact that the 14th installment experienced reduced viewership ratings. The dropped happened when two of the favorite cast members left the show.
While the departure of actors has been proven to have major effect on ratings, sometimes, it cannot be help that they had to leave. In case of "NCIS" it may suffer again in case the news about Mark Harmon's exit is true.
It was noted that the actor is getting thinner as evident in"NCIS" Season 14. His unusually pale appearance made fans worry about his health so they started to ask if he has some health issues.
This issue eventually led to speculations that Mark Harmon may soon leave "NCIS" because he needed a break to get healthy again. Now, either CBS Network or Harmon himself has yet to issue statements regarding this reports issue.
