Capcom, a Japanese developer and publisher of video games, announces a brand new rendition of "Street Fighter 2" for Nintendo Switch entitled "Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers" which is set to feature a new mode and characters as well. It comes with an updated art that was used in 2008's "Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix".

As an international audience gathered to watch the official revelation of the Switch, Nintendo wasn't the only studio with something new to show. Capcom unveiled "Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers" which is the newest version of the classic fighting game.

The two new characters are Ryu and Ken but this time around and these two have a slightly different take. According to Capcom's website, Evil Ryu represents the martial artist's path's direction if he allowed himself to succumb to the Satsui no Hado, which is the dark energy that turns out as the source of Akuma's power. He is bloodthirsty for battle to prove himself as the strongest.

Meanwhile, Violent Ken is the result of the villainous M. Bison's kidnapping and brainwashing act of him that enhanced his abilities with Psycho Power and twisted his brotherly rivalry with Ryu into disgust. He is much more aggressive and ruthless fighter than before with his fearless moves that feature purple flames rather of his signature fire.

According to Game Rant, In addition to the classic arcade mode, the game also features a mode similar to the fan-favorite Dramatic Battle option that's present in the "Street Fighter Alpha" games. Players will be able to team up in 2v1 fights. Moreover, players can choose between pixel-art graphics or HD graphics created by UDON Entertainment, especially those that want to have the classic "Street Fighter 2" visual style.

As per Capcom, Nintendo Switch TV, Tabletop, and Handheld modes enables players to play Ultra Street Fighter 2 at home or on-the-go with brand new single-player and multiplayer modes. Confirmation with the price and release date alongside more details on the aforementioned modes will be shared soon. Furthermore, Nintendo is scheduled to host a livestream on January 13 at 6:30 AM PT / 9:30 AM ET to discuss the Switch's upcoming games.
