Capcom's "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" game is set for a late 2017 launch and is expected to be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game's co-producer Peter Rosas recently revealed the reason why the studio reduced the number of team members from three to two. The decision to cut down larger teams was taken as Capcom wants the game to be accessible to beginners. This is the primary reason for having two characters within battles.
According to Game Rant, "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" fans were elated when the developer confirmed during the PlayStation Experience 2016 event that the game has already entered production and will be released sometime in 2017. The only point that surprised the fans was Capcom's decision to drop the "three characters in a team" structure and go for a 2X2 battle structure.
"Players had to make roughly six decisions before they could fight. The people were looking for two characters, which corresponded to their preference. But the third fighter was chosen solely because of his function - perhaps he had a particularly strong anti-air move or something like that ... This selection felt totally superfluous ... With this, we want to emphasize the feeling for a partnership and loyalty among the fighters," Rosas told EDGE, SegmentNext reports.
"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" fans expect more information to be revealed later down the road. The studio has also revealed a handful of characters that many are not happy with. It is expected that the studio will add more characters at regular intervals. Some of the characters that fans really want in the game can be found here. Capcom has revealed the game's characters in parts up to now.
It will be interesting to see whether the 2X2 setup will actually be an enhancement to the "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" game or a hindrance. However, due to the reduced team size, the matches will reportedly become faster and more fluid. Stay tuned on Mobile & Apps for more updates on the "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" game.
