"Black Panther" is one of the new and upcoming Marvel standalone films that has been attracting a lot of attention lately. The film already has a confirmed stellar cast -- and those yet to come are being looked out for.

One of the latest controversial details is the name drop of veteran African-American actress, Phylicia Rashad. As per Cinema Blend, one of the actors confirmed for a part in the movie allegedly leaked the aforementioned name in an interview, along with the rest of the affirmed stars.

Sterling K. Brown was quoted regarding his thoughts on Chadwick Boseman, who plays Black Panther. He said that he once worked with Boseman on a film titled "Marshall," noting how the actor is immensely talented. "He's the perfect personality to fully inhabit T'Challa. So, to rejoin him, and to work with Academy Award winners ... to be with Michael B. Jordan after the incredible work he's done in Creed. Danai Gurira, Phylicia Rashad, Forest Whitaker --- like, it's embarrassing," the quote said.

With the said statement, many have wondered whether Rashad is really to take part, given that she was not officially announced with the rest of the "Black Panther" cast. Some asked if this was something being kept behind curtains. However, word given to Comic Book by Disney says that her name was omitted from Brown's quoted statement, simply because it was an error from the actor's end and that Rashad is not in "Black Panther."

The story continues to confuse people in terms of certainty at this point, but until Marvel reveals the true score, the name still resounds among fans. Phylicia Rashad recently appeared in "Creed" alongside Michael B. Jordan. She is known as the first black woman to win the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for "A Raisin in the Sun." "Black Panther" is scheduled for release on February 16, 2018.
