Book lovers are in for a treat as another show based on a best-selling novel will soon premiere on HBO. "Big Little Lies," based on the book of the same name by Liane Moriarty, will star Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Shailene Woodley.

According to Broadway World, HBO's "Big Little Lies" "paints a picture of a town fueled by rumors and divided into the haves and have-nots, exposing the conflicts, secrets, and betrayals that compromise relationships between husbands and wives, parents and children, and friends and neighbors." The show will be set in the quiet town of Monterey, California. While the seaside town seems perfect, "nothing is quite as it seems."

The loving mothers, hard-working husbands, and playful children live their lives thanks to secrets that are told by a lot the town's various inhabitants. The HBO show will feature Reese Witherspoon ("Legally Blonde," "Water for Elephants") as Madeline Martha Mackenzie, Nicole Kidman ("Moulin Rouge!," "The Hours") as Celeste Wright, and Shailene Woodley ("Divergent," "The Fault in Our Stars" ) as Jane Chapman.

Like the New York Times number-one bestselling book that the show is based on, "Big Little Lies" will be a "darkly comedic drama" that features "murder and mischief." The show will also tackle "society's myth of perfection" that governs the idealized facets of our various relationships with family and friends.

As a limited drama series, "Big Little Lies" will only have seven episodes. The show will exclusively premiere on HBO on Sunday, Feb. 9 on HBO at 9:00 p.m. EST.

Variety has revealed that the show will be written by David E. Kelley ("Picket Fences," "L.A. Law") and directed by Jean-Marc Vallée ("Dallas Buyers Club," "Demolition"). The cast of "Big Little Lies" also includes talents such as Alexander Skarsgård ("True Blood," "The Legend of Tarzan"), Laura Dern ("Jurassic Park," "I Am Sam"), and Zoë Kravitz ("X-Men: First Class," "After Earth").
