It's nothing new that a lot of great A-list actors are also great singers. This is what the stars of animated movie "Sing" has shown. For the upcoming film, Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson and other stars sang a few of today's popular songs.

"Sing" is an animated movie that focuses on animals who are competing on a singing show. Since it's basically a movie filled with musical production, most of the characters will have their own performances. Nonetheless, Director Garth Jennings said that it should be the actor's own vocals that should be used in the movie. That being said, everything fans will hear in "Sing" are indeed from the voice actors themselves.

Among the stars of "Sing" is Oscar award winning actor Matthew McConaughey. Apparently, McConaughey's character sang a version of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe." Director Jennings first asked the actor whether he has heard the song and the actor replied, "I'd heard the song, obviously," according to USA Today. And so, the actor sang the song over again and everyone chose what they will use for the movie.

Another star is Reese Witherspoon who fans have heard sing before. Nonetheless, she has to sing three showstopper songs: "Fireworks" by Katy Perry, "Shake it Off" by Taylor Swift and Bananarama's "Venus."

Apparently, the actress is not as confidence with her singing voice for the songs and said that these were both hard. The New Indiana Express reported that the Oscar award winning actress actually has a "new appreciation" for Swift.

"Country music is much easier for me," Witherspoon said. "Singing Taylor's song 'Shake It Off' was really hard."

Scarlett Johansson also takes a role in the movie "Sing." However, fans are already familiar with Johansson's singing voice and can say that she can totally be a singer. In fact, the "Avengers" star already has two alternative rock albums.

Tori Kelly and Taron Egerton also joins the cast of "Sing" which will be out on cinemas this Wednesday, Dec. 22.
